Introduction

This policy explains what information the bot collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Text messages. The content of messages in channels the bot can read, both as they are sent and, when a server manager runs /train, from the channel history. Only the text is stored, together with the time it was stored: not the author, channel or original send time. Mentions inside a message are stored as written, so the text can contain Discord user, role or channel IDs.

Media links. URLs of images, GIFs and videos found in messages or attachments, NSFW ones included. The files themselves are not downloaded.

Voice. When the bot is in a voice channel (via /vc-join), it listens to what is said there and transcribes it into text on our own servers. The transcribed text is stored and used like a text message. Audio is processed in memory and never stored.

How We Use Collected Information

Stored messages and transcripts train a lightweight Markov chain for text generation, tied to the server they came from and never shared between servers. Media links are posted back by the bot in the same server. Login data is used only to show you the servers you manage and let you configure them.

Third Parties

We do not sell or share any collected data with third parties. Aggregate counts (servers, users, voice connections) may be published to bot listing sites. Discord itself handles all messages under its own privacy policy.

Data Storage and Retention

Each server's data is stored separately on our servers and kept until it is deleted. We implement reasonable security measures, but no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

User Controls and Data Deletion

Server managers can view, search and delete learned messages and media, or clear all of a server's data, from the website ("My servers" dashboard) or with the /wipe command. Removing the bot from a server deletes all of that server's data. Anyone can also request deletion by contacting us on the official Discord server.

Children's Privacy

The bot is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the date above.
